Once again we’re coming up on festival season here in LA, and that means plenty of trips you and your friends simply must go on in order to take advantage of the rich cultural tapestry we enjoy.  When there’s so much to do, and so many places to go, you need help weeding out the bad and focusing on the good.  We’re here to show you the good that’s coming up!

CRSSD Festival

This annual festival is a must-see.  Any fan of EDM will need to go to this rockin’ awesome festival, sponsored and produced by CRSSD FNGRS.  The headlining acts this year are Chromeo, Classixx, DJ Harvey, Flight Facilities and Empire of the Sun.  If that doesn’t have you eyes agape and jumping up and down like a little girl, then think of its amazing location: right in San Diego’s Waterfront Park.  So now you have music and the most ideal location of all time.  The festival is March 14-15 and is essential for any fan of electronic music.

Burgerama

Not as much an electronic music fan, more a rock and roll fan?  We got you.  Burger Records, a fast-growing label, is holding its annual Burgerama music festival in Santa Ana at the end of March.  Talk about a destination that can’t be over looked.  First of all, the headliner, Weezer, is one of the most fun bands to see live, with hits from two decades power-popped at you.  Also appearing this year at the 2-day festival is Roky Erickson, Gang of Four, Ariel Pink, J Masics and, I hope you’re sitting down: Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.  You – all your loved ones – and their loved ones – must all go together up to Santa Ana.  Help Burger Records explode into 2015 with some awesome music.

Winter Wonder Grass

Now you’re maybe a little more into the bluegrass, the acoustic music, a little taste of Appalachia?  That’s cool, there’s a festival for you, and it’s called Winter Wonder Grass, and it takes place in the Vail Valley.  There’s 20 bands and 15 Colorado breweries featured over 3 days of festviities.  That’s a lot of music and a lot of beer to try, so come early and stay late (and tipsy!).  Sam Bush headlines along with Leftover Salmon, so we probably needn’t say anymore, but in case we do, you won’t want to miss Elephant Revival or Jeff Austin of the Yonder Mountain String Band.  Nor will you dare miss Les Claypool’s newest bluegrass project Duo De Twang.  This is shaping up to be the best Winter Wonder Grass ever, and a great destination for Angelinos.

Musink

Then there’s the punk rock world, and you have your own festival called Musink.  Headlining this year is Rancid, Bad Religion, and Blink 182.  Bam.  It’s going to be awesome. This music and tattoo festival in Costa Mesa is so fun that you better get tickets now, as the festival is coming up in short time.  You can expect some celebrity tattoo artists, some rock and roll, and mind blowing fun.
