In an age where people associate themselves with all different types of tribes, from outdoorsy types to Trekkies, there may be one group of people that has risen to the forefront over the past few years and can be found almost anywhere you go in the country: the foodie. While foodies can be found in the middle of the country, in big cities like Los Angeles, they abound. There are so many great restaurants and such a myriad variety of cultures intersecting to create unique foods that you almost can’t help but be a food fan. It’s no wonder that so many food festivals have popped up in LA. Here are a few of the best food festivals happening in LA this year.
Hollywood Beer and Music Festival: $35 August 4th – Hollywood Events Lot
If there’s anything that pairs well with a huge variety of food trucks and live music, it’s craft beer and the Hollywood Beer and Music Festival has an abundance of all those things. For just $35 you can experience a full day of music in the Hollywood Events Lot and have access to many different food and beer vendors from the area.
LA Food Fest Sunday Funday: Free on the 3rd Sunday of the month all Summer at Civic Center Studios
There’s nothing better than a free event to take the family to on a Sunday afternoon and the LA Food Fest is one of the most fun around. It occurs at Civic Center Studios every third Sunday of the month all summer and every second Sunday of the month during the fall and features a wide array of vendors, food trucks, and more. There are yoga classes, arts and crafts, live music, giveaways, and a popup makers space. There are enough activities to keep you entertained all year.
Beach Eats Weekly Food Truck Event in Marina Del Rey
One of the most fun parts of going to the beach is either packing a picnic of junk foods or strolling the board walk to buy hot dogs and ice cream. The Beach Eats weekly food truck event in Marina Del Rey, sponsored by Los Angeles County, takes the event one step further and brings you food trucks right out to the beach so you have a wide selection of local trucks offering gourmet fare, street food, and multi-cultural favorites that you can enjoy before diving right back into the water. Each week brings out different trucks and the event is free to enter.
Food festivals are a great family activity that usually offer something for family members of all ages. From play areas for the kids to live music, beer for the adults, vast food selections so that everyone can enjoy their favorites and plenty more unique activities at each fest, they’re a staple of the summertime in Los Angeles. If none of the ones above are close to you, there are sure to be some in your neck of the woods this summer.
